Keto Homemade Sloppy Joes

My recipes are grain free, refined sugar free and most are dairy free. This recipe can be made with ground hamburger or ground turkey. Recently we had a bunch of leftover cooked hamburgers from a BBQ. I wanted to make something that would use up the cooked hamburger meat. I went looking through all my recipes trying to find one that I could use. Then I came across this recipe. A perfect fit for what I was looking for. Use this recipe with Siente Tortilla chips, mashed potatoes, riced cauliflower, mashed cauliflower or savory waffles. It’s all up to your individual taste buds. My family is not grain free so they used hamburger buns. This is a great recipe to use up leftover homemade ketchup and or BBQ sauce. This also works well with reversing the amount of Homemade Ketchup with Keto BBQ Sauce.

1 1/2 lbs. ground beef/turkey/hamburger patties

1 cup chopped onions

1/3 cup chopped green or other color bell pepper

2 garlic cloves minced

1/2 cup homemade ketchup

3/4 cup water or more

2 tablespoons coconut sugar

2 teaspoons yellow mustard

1 cup Keto BBQ Sauce

1/2 Tablespoon Garlic powder

1 teaspoon dry mustard powder

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon chili flakes

2 teaspoons chili powder

2 tablespoons Keto Nevada Sauce

 

Brown meat if needed. Add veggies and cook thoroughly. Add remaining ingredients. Add water if needed. Cook 2 hours.
