Sausage Gravy

My recipes are grain free, refined sugar free and many are dairy free. Many people around the globe who have autoimmune illnesses are changing their diet and finding that their health is greatly approving. There are naysayers who say it has nothing to do with diet. I can’t speak for others but I can tell you that my health has greatly improved by changing the way I eat and what I eat. I only use butter, coconut oil, grapeseed oil, and avocado oil to cook in. I don’t eat hydrogenated oils or anything with that in it. I don’t do nitrates. I try to eat organic as much is financially feasible. But for the most part, if I want to eat it I make it from scratch.

Many people think that my recipes take a long time to make. Some do but not all. I tell people that there are components to recipes that you could make in advance. So that you are not doing it all on one day. For example, if I use yogurt in a recipe I might make the yogurt up to a week in advance.

I think the world needs more positivity. I believe we all would prefer to see more stories about the good in the world. The story I shared on my facebook was about a man who takes a portable shower to people who normally would not have access to a shower. Because of his caring personality people who normally would not be able to get clean are now able to do so because of him. I hope you enjoy the story. My son’s favorite meal is biscuits and gravy. Once I made the Bacon and Cheddar Scones I got inspired to create a version of biscuits and gravy recipe using the Bacon and Cheddar Scones. These scones also go well with a little garlic butter on them and crumbled up in chili like a cornbread.

Nutritional Facts are listed below and are based on 1/3 cup per serving.

1/2 recipe of Ground Turkey Breakfast Sausage

1 tablespoon avocado oil

4 cups of water

1/8 teaspoon ground sage

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1 large pinch caraway seed

1/4 teaspoon of pink salt

1/8 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

1/3 cup beef broth

4 tablespoons tapioca flour

1/4 cup milk
Make 1/2 a recipe of Ground Turkey Breakfast sausage but instead of making patties make crumbles.  Fry sausage crumbles up and add in one tablespoon of avocado oil. Once crumbles are cooked through add water. Bring water to a boil. Add the sage, onion powder, garlic powder, caraway seed, pink salt, pepper, to the boiling water. Combine the tapioca and beef broth until all the tapioca has been combined and you have a slurry. Pour the slurry through a sieve while stirring the water mixture. Boil for two minutes or more. Reduce heat and add milk and ground turkey breakfast sausage. Stir until thick. Use as a gravy or top Bacon and Cheddar Scones for my variation of biscuits and gravy.
