I now find it difficult to shop in grocery stores as more than 3/4 of the items in the stores have something I can no longer eat, so there is no need to look at them. I am now an avid label reader. I can’t tell you how many times I read a label that seems like I can enjoy it only to get near the end and be like “nope, I can’t have this one ingredient.” I have to be super vigilant. This means that most times I have to make everything I want to eat from scratch. I have learned to make my own ketchup, chocolate chips, and things like mayonnaise. I have had to relearn how to bake and cook with grain free ingredients. Sometimes it is very frustrating as not every recipe turns out. I waste time, energy, and ingredients.
Use this Italian Seasoning in my Italian Rosemary Chicken
2 teaspoon thyme
2 teaspoon oregano
2 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon marjoram
1/4 teaspoon lemon zest
Combine all in a sterilized glass jar and shake until combined. Use to give dishes an Italian flavor.
