Hickory BBQ Sauce

Hickory BBQ Sauce Recipe has a deep smokey Hickory flavor with a little kick to it. Refined sugar-free with a little Cholula sauce for heat. Easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 6 oz. tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup apple vinegar
  • 1 tsp pink salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp granulated onion
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 - 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Cholula sauce
  • 1/2 - 1 tsp hickory liquid smoke
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 2 tbsp my BBQ Seasoning recipe on my blog

Instructions

  • First, combine all the ingredients in a pot and bring it to a boil.
    1 6 oz. tomato paste, 1/2 cup apple vinegar, 1 tsp pink salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp granulated onion, 1 minced garlic clove, 1/4 cup maple syrup, 1/2 - 1 cup water, 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar, 2 tbsp Cholula sauce, 1/2 - 1 tsp hickory liquid smoke, 1 tsp mustard powder, 2 tbsp my BBQ Seasoning
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
  • If you want it thinner add more water.
  • Remove from the stove and allow to cool.
  • Lastly, once cooled place sauce into a sterilized glass jar with a tight-fitting lid and store in the fridge. Good for up to 1 month. 
  • Good for up to 1 month.
