Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup coffee grounds
  • 1/2 cup monk fruit sweetener
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla or hazelnut extract
  • 1/4 cup vodka or rum
  • 1/2 cup maple sugar
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  • First and foremost, sterilize a canning jar or a bottle.
  • Second, add used coffee grounds to a canning jar.

  • Third, add the monk fruit sweetener and stir together.

  • Fourth, add vanilla or hazelnut extract.

  • Screw on the lid and allow the coffee grounds to sit with the monk fruit sweetener.
  • In the morning, the coffee grounds will be have liquid in it.
  • Stir ingredients together.
  • Next, combine the maple sugar and the water and bring to a boil.
    1/2 cup maple sugar, 1/4 cup water
  • Cook until a heavy syrup is formed.
  • Allow the syrup to cool.
  • Pour the syrup into the canning jar.
  • Add in the vodka or rum and let sit in a dark place for 4 - 7 days.

  • The longer it sits the deeper the flavor.
  • Finally, pour the ingredients into a fine mesh sieve and remove the coffee grounds.
  • Pour the liquid back into the canning jar or bottle.
  • Give it as a gift or add a little to some coffee for a treat.
