Vanilla Bean Powder

Vanilla Bean Powder Recipe take dried used beans and process in a spice grinder. Place into a jar with lid and use as you would pure vanilla.

  • 5-6 whole used vanilla bean pods

Instructions

  • First, after use of any vanilla bean pod find a place to store it until you have more pods.
  • Once you have 5 to 6 pods place them in a place to dry.
  • Once they are hard then break them into pieces.

  • Finally, place the vanilla pieces into a spice grinder.
  • Grind until the vanilla bean pods are ground into a powder.
  • Remove any small pieces that are not powder and save for the next time.
  • Lastly, pour the beans into a jar with a lid and store in your spice drawer or shelf.
  • Use like you would pure vanilla extract.
  • If a recipe calls for one tsp use 1/2 a tsp. 
  • Makes approximately 1 1/2 overflowing tbsp.
