Ingredients

Gluten-Free Crust

  • 1/2 cup Cassava Flour
  • 1/8 tsp pink salt
  • 1/4 cup of coconut oil
  • 1 whole beaten egg
  • 4 1/2 tsp cold water

Egg Custard

  • 1 cup chopped asparagus into bite-size pieces
  • 4 sliced of bacon
  • 1/2 cup cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup half and half
  • 1 tsp Dijon Mustard
  • 5 whole eggs
  • 1 tsp Deli Mustard With Brown Seeds
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/8 - 1/2 tsp salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Quiche Crust Directions

  • First and foremost, preheat the oven to 350.
  • Second, in a bowl combine the cassava flour and salt.
    1/2 cup Cassava Flour, 1/8 tsp pink salt
  • Stir them together.
  • Begin by using a pastry knife to cut in the coconut oil until it is in small crumbs.
    1/4 cup of coconut oil
  • Next, add the beaten egg and cold water.
    1 whole beaten egg, 4 1/2 tsp cold water
  • Stir until the dough starts to come together.
  • Roll together into a ball using your hands.
  • Lay down a sheet of parchment paper.
  • Place the dough on top of the parchment.
  • Top the dough with two sheets of plastic wrap.
  • Roll the dough out to a little over an inch bigger than needed.
  • Flip the plastic wrap over so that the parchment is facing upward.
  • Remove the parchment.
  • Using the plastic wrap lower the dough into the tart pan.
  • Trim off the edges.
  • Last but not least, using a fork poke holes into the bottom of the dough.

Custard Directions

  • First and foremost, fry the bacon until crispy.

  • Second, add the onions to the bacon grease and fry until translucent.
  • Thirdly, cut up the asparagus and shred the cheese.

  • Chop the bacon or break it up into small bits.
  • Add the asparagus, onions, cheese, and bacon to the bottom of the pan.
    2 tbsp chopped onion
  • Next, combine the half and half with the beaten eggs, Dijon mustard, Deli Mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a measuring cup.
    1/2 cup half and half, 1 tsp Dijon Mustard, 5 whole eggs, 1 tsp Deli Mustard With Brown Seeds, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp onion powder, 1/8 - 1/2 tsp salt and pepper
  • Blend ingredients together.
  • Lastly, pour the egg mixture over the asparagus and cheese mixture.
  • Place on a sheet pan with edges and cook for approximately 30 minutes.
  • Quiche is done when nice and golden brown.
  • Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
