Jalapeno Refried Black Beans

Refried Jalapeno Black Beans homemade from scratch. This makes a wonderful tasty Tex-Mex side dish. Eat as is or spice it up with some DIY Enchilada sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans of black beans about 3 cups
  • 3 tbsp chopped onions
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp powdered onion
  • 1/2 tsp powdered garlic
  • 1/4 - 1/2 tsp Powdered Jalapeno
  • 1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 4 dashes Cholula
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese of choice
  • 2 tsp coconut oil

Instructions

  • First, drain beans.
  • Second, fry onions in coconut oil until translucent.
  • Next, add 1/4 cup chicken broth and begin to mash.
  • Over medium heat bring beans to a simmer.
  • Finally, mash beans to your liking.
  • Add remaining ingredients except for the cheese.
  • If too thick add a little more chicken broth.
  • Lastly, add cheese and allow to melt.
