Furthermore, food is so intertwined in our culture. Needless to say, all of our senses play a part in food and are connected to our memories. For example, the smell of fresh bread can bring up a memory of your mother in the kitchen. Not to mention, the flavor of fresh bread brings us back to those same memories. Unbelievably, food connects us to our world in sight, smell, flavor, touch, and hearing. For example, I often play music while doing my Christmas baking. Therefore, my children connect certain Christmas songs to specific foods that I bake. Most holidays, celebrations, birthdays, weddings, etc. have food connected to them.
Refried Jalapeno Black Beans are a favorite in my house. I like spice and heat but I prefer it to be on the mild side. Some of my family’s favorite food is Mexican. Due to my diet restrictions if I want to eat something I almost always have to make it from scratch. Since creating Powdered Jalapeno spice I want to use it all the time. In fact, just add a pinch of this spice to any dish to up the spice profile. Moreover, I prefer Cholula to any other hot sauce. Indeed, Cholula can be found at your local grocery store or at Amazon.
Dried Beans can also be used. Rinse and sort through the beans. Place the beans into a bowl and add enough water to cover them with water. Place into the refrigerator overnight. Lastly, drain the beans from the water. Place the drained beans into a pot with fresh water covering them. Boil approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Once beans are cooked follow the recipe below.
