Swedish Ice Chocolates Recipe is a vintage holiday confectionery from the 1920s. Popular in Sweden and Germany it has only two ingredients.

Ingredients

Swedish Ice Chocolate

  • 1/3 cup coconut oil
  • 3.5 oz. Homemade Chocolate Chips or Store-bought I use Stevia sweetened chips

Swedish Ice Chocolate Variations

  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • 2 tbsp homemade Coffee Liqueur
  • 2 tbsp Rum or Bourbon
  • 2 tbsp homemade jam of any kind
  • 1/3 cup of chopped toasted nuts

Instructions

  • First and foremost, purchase small foil candy papers.
  • Second, place the candy papers onto a 1/4 cookie sheet.
  • Third, place the cookie sheet next to the stove.
  • Fourth, melt the coconut oil or butter in a pan over medium heat while.
    1/3 cup coconut oil
  • Once, the coconut oil or butter has melted add in the chocolate chips while stirring.
    3.5 oz. Homemade Chocolate Chips or Store-bought
  • Remove from heat and allow to sit with a lid on top for 5 minutes.
  • Finally, take the lid off and stir until the mixture is cooled.
  • Pour the chocolate mixture into a measuring cup.
  • Lastly, pour the chocolate into the candy wrappers.
  • Place the cookie sheet into the freezer for 30 minutes. 
  • Keep refrigerated if not eating

Directions for Variations

  • Add one of the above suggestions to the melted chocolate before pouring the chocolate into the cups.
