LC’S Steak Sauce

My recipes are grain free, refined sugar free and most are dairy free. Do you have allergies? Are you on AIP, Keto, Paleo, GAPS, FODMAP, or SCD diets? Hopefully, my recipes can help you. I switched my diet in order to improve my health and have more control over my autoimmune disorders. I am feeling better and not feeling exhausted but actually having some energy return. These are my personal experiences. I am under the care of a Functional Doctor and a Western MD. After reviewing my labs and tests my Western MD has removed me from all but one of my medications for Hashimoto’s Thyroid Disease.

Here is just a little of my personal story. There was a time I didn’t think I could walk around my block. I felt like I was ninety years old. I didn’t have the energy to do hardly anything. It is not something I shared with many. There were days I didn’t make it out of bed as I was sleeping over 15 hours a day. Only my really close friends and family were aware of how bad it was at my worst. I had been on and off steroids to prevent my tongue from swelling and choking me to death. I went the Western medical route and was getting worse and worse and had to be put on this and that medicines. It got to a point where I was at my lowest and I knew I had to do something different. I went to a free functional medical seminar and listened. I then decided to go the functional doctor who gave the seminar. It was not cheap and I am still under his care. He also has me on supplements.

Most premade items such as ketchup, bbq sauce and steak sauce on the market contain items I will no longer eat. Therefore, I have to create my own sauce from scratch. I have been craving a steak sauce and set out to make one. I am so glad I created it as it came in handy when I made Beef Jerky as I add the sauce to the marinade.

How did this recipe come about? Well, I just started adding and then tasting after I added a new ingredient. Once I felt it had a complete flavor profile I stopped. I then had to have some of my sauce with a steak. I liked it so I thought I would share.

Use with Rosemary BBQ Tri-Tip Roast, L’s Seasoned T-Bone, try as a dipping sauce for popcorn chickenKeto BBQ Buffalo Burgers, and Luscious Sirloin Steak.

Nutritional facts are listed below. 1 serving is one tablespoon. Makes approximately 1 1/4 cup of Steak Sauce. Use as a steak sauce, Peppercorn Beef, and Vegetables, or in my Beef Jerky recipe.

1/2 cup boiling water

1/3 cup white raisins (I prefer white raisins but use whatever raisin you prefer)

1 tablespoon maple syrup

1 teaspoon granulated onion

1 teaspoon granulated garlic

1/2 teaspoon tamarind powder

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon yellow mustard

1/8 teaspoon hickory salt

1 teaspoon vinegar

1/2 teaspoon Nevada Sauce

1 teaspoon Hickory BBQ sauce

1/2 teaspoon lemon peel

1 teaspoon garlic powder
Boil water. Place raisins inside a bowl and pour boiling water on top of it. Allow raisins to sit in boiling water for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes drain off 1/2 the water pour into a food processor, and add remaining ingredients. Process for 5 minutes or so. Once the sauce is thoroughly combined pour inside a sterilized glass container with an airtight lid. Store in the fridge for 2 – 3 weeks.
