How Long Does Chocolate Marzipan Last
Chocolate Marzipan will last for several weeks in a sealable bag for weeks. Careful not to over-knead as the almonds will release oils. In summary, be sure it is wrapped well if not it will dry out. Lightly knead to make it pliable.
Can It Be Eaten Raw
Yes. It contains egg whites but no yolks. Therefore, there is no risk of salmonella. Don’t eat it if you are allergic to eggs. The amount of sugar in it and the lack of moisture also prevent bacteria from growing.
Use as Icing
Simply cut a piece of string and measure the cake leaving about 1 inch extra per side. In conclusion, roll the marzipan into a circle in between two pieces of plastic wrap. Place the string across the length of the marzipan. Continue rolling it out until it is the size of the string. Lift the marzipan up and place it on top of any cake. Use an icing fondant smother tool to smooth out the marzipan. Cut off any excess marzipan. Save for later use. Use as strudel topping for desserts. Use for Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, and Christmas.
