Fresh Strawberry Sauce is one of those delectable sauces every kitchen needs. Just imagine this sauce dripping over the sides of cheesecake, pancakes, waffles, crepes, ice cream, or other desserts. Makes my mouth water. Homemade Strawberry Sauce is a quick and easy way to elevate any dessert or breakfast items. Not to mention, anything topped with this sweet and tart sauce will remind you of Summertime. Believe it or not, my secret ingredient is fresh-squeezed orange juice which imparts a slight tart flavor.
Fresh Strawberry Sauce
Fresh Summer Strawberries always seem like an indulgence. Oftentimes, I purchase them as the strawberry perfume permeates the air. In fact, just smelling them in the air will make me want to purchase them. Of course, the deep red hues also make them desirable. Needless to say, just thinking of plump, sweet, juicy strawberries will make my mouth water. Believe it or not, Strawberries are one of my favorite berries. Nevertheless, they make the tastiest sauce to go with desserts, breakfast items, or ice creams.
Most importantly, ripe fresh strawberries will extract the most flavor. Indeed, it is one of the quickest and easiest sauces to make. Not to mention, this sauce is both sweet and tart. What causes the tartness in this sauce? Additionally, I add freshly squeezed orange juice to the strawberries. Moreover, this recipe also uses freshly chopped and smashed strawberries giving it a textural feel to the tongue. Last but not least, Triple Sec leads a deeper flavor to this sauce. Although the Triple Sec is not necessary but is optional.
