Refined Sugar-Free Chocolate-Fudge Frosting takes time to make but will leave your tastebuds swooning. Not only is it chocolate but has a fudge-like quality to it that makes it drool-worthy. While it is more of an old-world recipe that takes time it is so worth it in the end. No, store-bought icing could ever come close to matching its decadent and creamy flavor. Frosting in the foreground with cake in the background.

Needless to say, if you read my blog then you will note that most of my recipes are smaller batch recipes that can be eaten in one meal. My recipes are for a family of 4. Subsequently, this recipe for the frosting is the same. It will frost the top and sides of one cake or a two-layer cake with another kind of filling in the middle. However, if you need more frosting just double or triple.

Refined Sugar-Free Chocolate-Fudge Frosting:

For some reason or other, I absolutely adore old-world recipes or vintage recipes. Not only are they timeless but have a sentimental quality at least for me. Vintage recipes usually take longer to make than modern recipes. While this recipe does take time to make the flavor and texture of this smooth velvety fudgy chocolatey frosting is so worth the time.

In any case, dutch cocoa and canned unsweetened coconut milk can be found at Amazon. Oh! My! GOODNESS! This is unbelievably good! Use with Gluten-Free Chocolate Fudge Cake my remake of a Wellesley Fudge Cake.

Refined Sugar-Free Chocolate-Fudge Frosting

  • 1/4 cup dutch cocoa
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 4 tbsp coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips or homemade chocolate chips

Instructions:

First, combine instant coffee and dutch cocoa to boiling water and let sit for 2 minutes to bloom it. Chocolate Fudge Frosting after it has been blendedUse frosting to frost a cake. Makes enough frosting to frost the sides and top of a two-layer 6-inch cake.

Frosting or Icing:

Not only can this decadent frosting be used for a cake it can also be used for cupcakes. Whether or not you call it icing or frosting it can be used on white cake, vanilla cake, or chocolate cake. This frosting or icing is delicious on a spoon. Refined Sugar-Free Chocolate-Fudge Frosting Recipe is homemade from scratch and easy to make. Thick, creamy, fudge-like, old-fashioned, recipe. This looks like a very rich frosting with the Dutch cocoa and the chocolate chips. So nice that it’s sweetened with maple syrup – that adds a great flavor too.

The maple syrup heightens the flavor. Plus you can use my other recipe to make your own chocolate chips. Sending positive vibes your way.
