Homemade Chocolate Chips Bar from scratch is perfect for any time. Incidentally, it is so delicious and has no refined sugar. Believe it or not, I can now enjoy chocolate chips and bars again. This a quick and easy recipe to make chocolate bars or chips (large or small) in a mold. What is better than chocolate? I am not sure. In 2018 when I wrote this recipe there were no chocolate chips or bars that I could purchase. This chocolate will fill that chocolate craving you are having. Learn how to make homemade chocolate from scratch.Homemade Chocolate Bars with molds and homemade chocolate bars and chips with a cup of coffee in the background.

In any case, I have yet to find a chocolate bar that I can purchase that has no refined sugar on the market at a price I am willing to pay. If you are like me then you like chocolate. Who am I kidding I love chocolate. Needless to say, if I want chocolate chips or a chocolate bar I need to make it myself.

In the beginning, I did a lot of trial and error before I came up with this recipe. Some of the beginning chocolate didn’t turn out and I had to throw it out. That meant I had to do a lot of research until I could come up with a recipe. Therefore, I decided to start with good quality unsweetened chocolate. I use cocoa butter that is of excellent quality. Make sure the cocoa butter you use is edible and made to be consumed. Get good quality food-grade cocoa butter.

Why Make Your Own Chocolate:

Because you control the sweetness and ingredients. For example, this recipe is for milk chocolate. The flavors and additions are in your control. For variations, place a few drops of peppermint, lemon, orange, or lime oil.

Notes on Homemade Chocolate Chips:

After I did my research I had to find molds for chocolate chips or chocolate bars. I have two molds I use. One looks exactly like chocolate chips but you have to be careful when removing it from the mold or the top will break the tip. The other I use is an octagonal shape (technically it is a hot pad but you can use it as a mold).  I think the chip mold has a little more waste but the octagonal shape is harder to clean in my opinion. Both work and it is whatever you prefer. If you want chocolate bars, buy the mold that fits your style.

Place into a chocolate form or mold and freeze for three hours. After three hours remove from the freezer and gently pop the chocolate out from the form or chocolate mold.

With the chocolate chips, you will need to gently press them up and out from the bottom of the chocolate form. Place chocolate chips inside a container with a lid and store in the fridge.
