Jalapeno Gravy, a lightly spicey flavored gravy to go with your Jalapeno Roast.
My recipes are grain free, refined sugar free, and many are dairy free. If you have autoimmune illnesses or celiacs then these recipes will be helpful to you. My family can’t taste the difference between these recipes and the ones I made prior to going grain free etc. I started this blog because when I first went grain free I couldn’t find very many recipes online. There were plenty of gluten-free ones.
I have been writing recipes since I was in my twenties but this was so new to me it threw me off balance so to speak. I started researching and experimenting with other ingredients that I had never heard of before. At first, I was apprehensive to even purchase the ingredients as they were in my humble opinion costly they were indeed costlier than regular flour and white sugar. Soon I was creating my own grain free recipes. My friends encouraged me to start my own blog and share my new found wisdom with others who had a similar dietary journey.
I have had a long winter break. Now it’s time to focus on homeschooling again and the new year. I am not sure what the new year has planned for me but am excited to see what unfolds. I
Most gravy recipes are easy to make as you start with the juices that the meat cooked in. However, this recipe does not require any juices from a roast although adding them wouldn’t hurt it would just amp up the flavor. This recipe can be used on beef or pork. Make my Rosemary Wine Salt and Powdered Jalapeno ahead of time.
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp Rosemary Wine Salt see recipe on my blog
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 tsp powdered Jalapeno see recipe on my blog
- 6 tbsp tapioca
- 8 tbsp water
- Bring water, beef broth, balsamic vinegar to a boil.
- Add in Rosemary Wine Salt
- Add powdered jalapeno stir until combined.
- Reduce heat slightly and add water to the tapioca stir until it becomes a slurry.
- Pour in the slurry to the mixture while stirring the whole time. Stir until desired consistency.
- Pour into a gravy boat or spoon over slices of Jalapeno Roast
