Gluten-Free Sour-Cream Onion Biscuits:
Indeed, if you like biscuits you will fall in love with this one. These slightly sour biscuits with tidbits of green onion will have your guests salivating. Beautifully green flecked biscuits go with everything. Consequently, I make them slightly smaller and not quite as tall to avoid carbs.
Honestly, these biscuits can be used for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. At any rate, they could also be cut into small tiny biscuits and served with high tea or smeared with chicken or tuna salad. Gluten-Free Sour-Cream Onion Biscuits
Ingredients:
- 4 whole green onions
- 1 cup cassava flour
- 6 tbsp butter
- 1 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/8 tsp powdered garlic
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp monk fruit sweetener
- 3/4 cup sour cream
Directions:
First, preheat the oven to 350 F. Second, trim the green onions and cut off the ends. Cut the green onions (both the white and green parts) into small pieces. Next, in a large bowl combine, cassava flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, pepper, salt, and monk fruit. Stir until combined.
Finally cut in 5 tablespoons into the butter with a pastry knife until it resembles small peas.
Next, add in the green onions and stir until well combined.
Finally, make a well in the center and add the sour cream.
Therefore, gently stir in the sour cream until a shaggy dough forms. Fold the dough onto itself until it comes together. Pour out the shaggy dough and press into a rectangle.
Cut the dough in half and stack it on top of the other half.
If there are any pieces behind just pick them up and press them down on the top. Using your knuckles press the dough down into a 6 x 4 1 inch square and cut into 9 biscuits.
Next, melt remaining butter in the microwave and brush the tops of the biscuits. Place the biscuits onto a greased cookie set.
Lastly, place inside the oven and bake 20 -30 minutes or until golden brown. Finally, remove and allow to cool before eating.
