Grain-Free Cheese Biscuits are the stuff that dreams are made of. Soft and tender on the inside and yet flaky on the outside. The delicious biscuits are full of cheese. Not to mention, they are easy to make. Consequently, there is no dough that needs to be rolled out or cut out. Simply drop them by the spoonful on a cookie sheet or baking stone.
What is the one thing most about being grain-free, biscuits or bread? Boy, have I got the recipe for you? Grain-Free Cheese Biscuits. These biscuits are soft on the inside and flaky on the outside.
Grain-Free Cheese Biscuits:
Most people who are gluten-free and grain-free would definitely say that the thing they miss the most is biscuits/bread. Without a doubt, I miss bread so very much. Needless to say, I even have dreams about it. Hence, this Biscuit recipe completes that desire for bread. Do you know what goes great with bread? Soup goes amazingly well. Or for a quick and easy dinner what about Soup, Salad, and Biscuits? Any of my soups would be a perfect match, Portuguese Kale Soup, Shrimp Pan Roast, Swedish Langostino Bisque, or another soup.
Above all my favorite thing to do are research and experiment. Not only is it fulfilling to write a new recipe but it is also invigorating to learn about new ingredients that I have never used before and many are from other parts of the world. Most importantly, this biscuit is the result of my research. Simply easy and quick. Mix it up then drop by the tablespoon full on a greased cookie sheet or baking stone then bake. How easy is that!
Most importantly, maybe I should call these biscuits disappear biscuits because that is just what happened at my house. Consequently, writing this blog post is making my mouth drool. Grain-Free Cheese Biscuits
Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 cups cassava flour
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 cup coconut oil or butter
- 1 1/2 cups shredded Dubliner
- 1 cup cheddar
- 2 cup milk
Directions:
First, preheat the oven to 475. Second, combine cassava flour with seasonings. Third, using a pastry knife cut in coconut oil or butter. Once it resembles fine sand add shredded cheese. Mix cheese into the flour so that the cheese gets coated with the cassava flour.
Next, add milk. It will still be slightly crumbly but will stick together. Finally, scoop up a tablespoon or so and drop it onto a greased cookie sheet or baking stone. Then press the biscuits slightly down. Makes 12 biscuits. Bake for 10 -20 minutes
In a small bowl melt 2 tablespoons of butter and whisk in 1/4 teaspoon minced garlic and 1/8 teaspoon onion powder and a pinch of smoked paprika. Lastly, brush on top of each biscuit fresh out of the oven. Serve
Gluten-Free Cheddar Biscuits
Ingredients
