Gluten-Free Chicken Fried Steak is a wonderfully tasty and delectable treat to eat. Indeed if you are gluten-free or grain-free this may be the dish you are craving. What a delicious quintessential Southern dish that is a must-have. Some call it Country Style Southern Chicken Fried Steak. It is called Fried Chicken Steak because it is breaded and then fried like chicken. While it is not low-calorie it is tasty. The outside is crispy and crunchy while the meat on the inside is moist and tender. Consequently, it is even better with gravy. Recipe for gravy is listed below as well.
One of the things I really missed when I went grain-free was Chicken Fried Steak. Regardless, I would never get Chicken Fried Steak in California. Believe it or not, I don’t think they know what real Chicken Fried Steak is. In any case, the best chicken fried steak I have ever had was in Florida. In fact, I can still recall the flavors on my tongue. According to my family, this recipe beats the one we all had in Florida. In any event, you will need to make Gluten-Free Garlic Crackers. Consequently, crackers can be made in advance.
At any rate, the cassava crackers get turned into crumbs to create breading. This recipe is a lot of work but so very worth it in the end. My gravy recipe is at the bottom of this page. Needless to say, this is often what my husband requests for his birthday.
Gluten-Free Chicken Fried Steak Notes:
As a matter of fact, this recipe is one of my family’s all-time favorites. All in all, this is my version of a vintage Southern Fried Chicken Steak recipe. While this recipe is finger-licking delicious it is not low in calories or carbs. However, I think once or twice a year I can splurge. In conclusion, it is scrumptious with or without gravy.
Gluten-Free Garlic Crackers can be made up to a week or two in advance. With regards to Cassava flour please read Cassava Flour Information. Check out Gluten-Free Southern Recipes.
Regardless resist the urge to turn the steaks over until one side is completely cooked on one side. In all honesty, flipping the steaks over more than once or twice will cause the breading to fall off.
Moreover, cassava flour, avocado oil, pots, and pans are all available on Amazon.
