Dairy-Free Lime Cream is a light creamy lime flavored coconut whipped cream. A luscious, thick, and creamy tart dessert topping. In all honesty, it is a creamy topping or sour cream that can be used in a variety of recipes. Use as a sweet or savory topping. Make with or without monkfruit sweetener. If using as sour cream simply omit the powdered monk fruit sweetener and vanilla. I have used it as a Tex-Mex crema on tacos etc.
Diary-Free Lime Cream:
Nevertheless, since going refined sugar-free I have found that monk fruit is a wonderful substitute that tends to be about 10 times sweeter than white sugar. In any event, monkfruit is easily found locally. Find monk fruit sweetener here.
What exactly is monk fruit sweetener? Furthermore, Monkfruit is a natural sweetener that comes from China. For example, monk fruit gets its antioxidants and sweetness from mogrosides. Believe it or not, Monk Fruit has been used for centuries in Asia. Unbelievably, monk fruit has also been used in Chinese medicine. According to the FDA, Monk Fruit is 250 times sweeter than white sugar. (1) For more information check out Monkfruit Sweetener Information & Recipes.
Indeed, I highly suggest doing your own research before deciding to add any new item to your pantry.
Needless to say, I make my own powdered vanilla monk fruit sweetener. Consequently, a perfect topping for my Vegan Key Lime Cheesecake.
