Indeed, there is nothing better than homemade turkey gravy. In all honesty, the pan drippings from a roasted turkey make all the difference. Gravy is essential for Thanksgiving. Gravy is normally quick and easy to make. Not to mention, that the recipe is versatile. It is versatile as it depends on how the turkey is seasoned. A flavorful addition to mashed potatoes, stuffing, and poultry.

Needless to say, gravy is one item that needs to be on the table. In my humble opinion, the turkey would not be half as tasty without homemade gravy. To clarify, I don’t think my son would eat mashed potatoes without gravy. Every excellent gravy starts with the pan dripping from poultry. Consequently, I have never had a premade gravy that was as tasty as homemade. Not to mention, all the unhealthy ingredients that are in some of those premade gravies.
What are pan drippings? They are the liquids and brown bits left in the roasting pan or oven cooking bag. In any case, I usually cook my turkey in an oven bag. Why? Because it is quicker with no basting.
Last but not least, add Homemade Turkey Bone Broth. Obviously, additional fresh herbs can be added. Hence, rosemary, sage, and thyme pair nicely with turkey.
How To Make Gluten-Free Turkey Drippings Gravy:
Nevertheless, if there are leftover pan drippings don’t forget to freeze them. In any case, store any leftovers in ice cube trays. Ice cubes can be added to soups or stews. Furthermore, store gravy in the fridge for up to 4 days. After four days, freeze any remaining gravy in the freezer. Remove the cubes from the trays. Place the ice cubes into freezer quart bags. Add the date and label the bags. Use cubes for shortcut gravy.
To thaw allow to defrost in the fridge. When reheating stir continuously.
In conclusion, all good gravies start with a roux. A roux is melted butter and flour. It makes a pasty combination. Flavored with the fat and drippings from a roasted turkey or poultry. Once, the roux is made turkey drippings and broth are added. In conclusion, stir until the gravy is thickened.
Generally speaking, the rule of thumb for gravy is 2:2:2. The three ingredients are fat, flour, and liquid. With this information, any amount of gravy can be made.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup of Drippings from a Dry Brined Roasted Turkey
- 4 tbsp butter or coconut oil or avocado oil
- 1/3 cup of tapioca flour
- 3 1/2 cups of Homemade Turkey Bone Broth or Chicken Broth or water
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
First and foremost, in a large sauce over medium heat melt the butter. Second, sprinkle the tapioca flour all over the pan. Third, continue stirring until a pasty consistency. Fourth, if it seems a little greasy add more tapioca flour. Drain off the turkey drippings into a large measuring cup. Allow pan drippings to sit and allow the grease to separate. Pour off the fat from the dark brown drippings. Mix the roux over medium heat for a minute or two. Next, carefully, and slowly stir in the pan drippings and Turkey Bone Broth. Bring the mixture to a boil while continuously stirring. Reduce heat and simmer for approximately 9 – 10 minutes until thick. Lastly, taste and season with salt and pepper. Remove and add to a gravy boat.
