Powdered Jalapeno will have you salivating before dinner is ready. Indeed, it is one of my favorite new spices to use to infuse flavor into all kinds of recipes. Slightly spicy and smokey in flavor. Super yummy on chicken or beef. You control the amount of heat by adding a lot or a small amount. Such a delightful flavor and level of heat.
Creating new and tasty dishes has inspired me to create new to me spices and spice blends. Many spice blends on the market have corn-based preservatives. As I am grain-free I can’t eat them Therefore I need to recreate many of my favorite blends.
I heard about a Jalapeno spice and so I did some research and purchased what I thought was powdered Jalapeno spice. The Jalapeno seasoning that arrived has itty bitty pieces of jalapeno and seeds. I had ordered Jalapeno Chili Flakes. In fact, it is super easy to make. Simple add Jalapeno flakes to a coffee or spice grinder and blend on high. Jalapeno powder has become my new favorite seasoning. All in all, making this spice has inspired me to create new dishes. Try in my Zesty Jalapeno Chicken. Once you have tried these recipes you will wonder where it has been all your life. Not to mention, you will not believe how much flavor this little spice adds to your dishes. Great with fish, chicken, or beef.
Powdered Jalapeno Notes:
As I have said before I am not a fan of hot spice. I do, however, enjoy a mild spice. At any rate, I absolutely adore spices and herbs and have a number of spices and herbs from around the world. I often enjoy shopping at various markets in my town such as the Korean Market, Russian Market, and German Market. I enjoy learning about new foods and spices and then trying them myself.
