Rosemary Red Onion Dressing is a unique perfect salad dressing. This unique onion-flavored dressing is a perfect dressing or a dip. Needless to say, it is the perfect accompaniment for your favorite veggies, and crackers, or use as mayonnaise on a sandwich. In fact, this dressing is a slightly spicy and savory dip or dressing. Not to mention, it tastes amazing on top of sweet potatoes. Consequently, it has a light pink hue making it great for Valentine’s, Easter, or even Mother’s Day.Rosemary Red Onion Dressing in a small pour on pitcher next to three salads with bell peppers, tomatoes, and radishes.

At any rate, this recipe is “hydrogenated fat-free” and refined sugar-free. This recipe uses homemade mayonnaise that has avocado oil. “Hydrogenated fat-free” is not the same as fat-free. Occasionally, my family goes out to dinner. Needless to say, I can’t eat any of the salad dressings at any of the restaurants as they contain hydrogenated fats and often sugar. Therefore, I need to make my own dressings and then bring them with me.

Recently, I went to a party with my husband. In fact, it is so hard to attend these parties when you are on a restrictive diet. I often feel as if I can’t attend as I won’t have anything to eat. Not to mention, being tempted to eat food you can’t or shouldn’t. Nevertheless, I’m often tempted to decline to attend any of the parties. Indeed, it feels as if you are not at the same party. Diet restrictions make me feel as if I am excluded or like I am looking in from the outside.

However, the host was kind enough to make me a piece of chicken and sweet potato. Hence, I made this dressing as well as a small salad. I also used it to dip some fresh vegetables in as well as top my sweet potato.

Rosemary Red Onion Dressing:

This recipe is quick and easy it takes about 5 minutes to throw together. The lemon red onion and rosemary complement each other very well. Use it as a salad dressing or as a dipping sauce for chicken, pork, or even vegetables. Last but not least, create small salads and serve them at a tea party with sandwiches and desserts.

Check out my recipe for Homemade Mayonnaise, and my homemade Rosemary Wine Salt. Mayonnaise can be made several days in advance. Rosemary Wine Salt takes about 2 days in a dehydrator to make.

However, if you are looking for a new mini food processor try Amazon.

Rosemary Red Onion Dressing

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup homemade mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/8 cup lemon juice
  • 1 roasted clove of garlic
  • 1/2 tsp fresh chopped rosemary
  • 1/4 tsp fresh chopped thyme
  • 1/2 tsp Rosemary Wine Salt

First, use a zester or cheese grater to grate the onion. Second, add the grated onion to a small food processor. Third, add the remaining ingredients. Process for one minute to mix all the ingredients. Next, remove from the food processor and put into a bowl and store in the fridge for up to two weeks. Let sit for 2 hours before using. Use it as a salad dressing or dipping sauce.Rosemary Red Onion Dressing in a small pour on pitcher next to three salads with bell peppers, tomatoes, and radishes.
