Wine Cheese Spread a smoky hickory flavor that is great with vegetables or crackers. In fact, this would be a perfect addition to an anniversary or first date dinner table. A great topping for celery creates a wonderful, crunchy, and cheesy bite. A terrific addition to any charcuterie board. This cheese spread will soon become a favorite snack or party appetizer. Great for Super Bowl Sunday or tailgating.
I have always liked celery and cheese. One of my longest memories is eating celery with cheese at Christmastime. For as long as I can remember there have always been celery sticks with cheese inside (from a can of cheese) on my Christmas table. Since the spread is full of horrible ingredients, I no longer eat it. Believe it or not but it would not seem like Christmas without cheese-filled celery. However, I was determined to create a cheese spread that I could eat and place inside celery sticks. Therefore, I went to work experimenting. Finally, I created this recipe. Needless to say, this soft cheese spread or dip has a smoky flavor with a hint of garlic. Not to mention, that this recipe also uses my Nevada Sauce AKA Worchestershire Sauce in it.
Wine Cheese Spread:
In fact, this Wine Cheese sauce or dip would be a great addition to any New Year’s Eve Party, Super Bowl Party, or as an appetizer for dinner. This dip is wonderful on vegetables or chips. It makes a great addition to any festive occasion or party or even an anniversary dinner. Use as an appetizer. Indeed, it can be a quick and easy item to bring to a potluck.
As a matter of fact, this dip is reminiscent of a vintage fondue. In the ’50s and ’60s, fondue was a popular dish in the United States of America. Warm ooey and gooey cheese with a hint of wine or other alcohol is traditional fondue. Therefore, I added a small amount of wine to my cheese spread not only for flavor but also to create a more pliable spread or dip. Hence, this cold dip is perfect for snacking.
